Bengals cornerback Terence Newman, who has been ill all week, is officially out for tonight’s game against Pittsburgh, which means Dre Kirkpatrick will get his second consecutive start at left cornerback.
Newman was one of four Bengals listed as questionable with illness on the team’s injury report, but all three of the others – cornerbacks Adam Jones and Chris Lewis-Harris and safety Reggie Nelson – are active.
Also active is starting linebacker Emmanuel Lamur, who missed Monday’s game against Denver with a hamstring injury.
The other inactives are wide receivers James Wright and Greg Little, center T.J. Johnson, tackle Tanner Hawkinson, defensive tackle Devon Still and quarterback AJ McCarron.
For the Steelers, cornerback Ike Taylor, who was torched by A.J. Green for 224 yards in the Dec. 7 game at Paul Brown Stadium, and safety Troy Polamalu are inactive, along with wide receiver Justin Brown, defensive end Clifton Geathers, offensive lineman Chris Hubbard, tight end Michael Palmer and quarterback Landry Jones.
